How it works

A job-specific CV in four steps

01

Pick a CV

Start from any saved CV. Tailoring makes a job-specific copy — your original is never changed.

02

Add the job

Paste the advert text, a link, a PDF, or a photo of the posting. AI reads the role, company, and requirements.

03

Review the changes

See every proposed edit to your summary, skills, and experience side by side. Accept the ones you want, skip the rest.

04

Save & download

Save the tailored version as its own CV and export a job-specific PDF. Come back and tailor the same CV for the next role.

Editing, not inventing

It sharpens the match — it never fabricates

Tailoring reorders and rewords what is already on your CV so the relevant experience comes first, in the advert's own terms. It is instructed never to add something that is not true — nothing you would have to walk back in an interview or a reference check.

  • Your employers, job titles, and dates
  • Your qualifications and certifications
  • Every metric and achievement you wrote
  • Your original CV — untouched

Why it matters

A generic CV competes; a tailored one stands out

Seconds per CV

Recruiters reviewing dozens of applications for one Lusaka vacancy skim fast. A CV that answers the advert up front holds their attention.

Screening software

Many banks, telecoms, mining houses, and NGOs rank CVs on keyword match. Mirroring the advert's wording — where it is true of you — lifts your ranking.

Every application

Tailoring by hand for each role is slow, so most people skip it. Doing it in a minute means you can do it every time.

FAQ

Common questions

Is CV tailoring free?

Every Zed Career account includes free CV tailorings every month, with no card required. Saving the tailored CV and exporting it to PDF are free too. Paid plans raise the monthly limit for people applying to many roles.

Will it invent experience I do not have?

No. Tailoring is editing for emphasis, not invention. It reorders and rewords what is already on your CV to match the advert, and is instructed never to add an employer, date, qualification, or metric that is not there. If you lack a requirement, a tailored CV cannot manufacture it.

Does it change my original CV?

Never. Each tailoring produces a separate, job-specific copy. Your master CV stays exactly as it was, so you can tailor it again and again for different vacancies.

What does it actually change?

Typically the first line of your professional summary, the order and wording of your skills, and which bullet points lead under each relevant job — so a recruiter skimming the first half of page one sees the match without hunting for it. You approve each change before it is applied.

Why does a tailored CV matter for jobs in Zambia?

Recruiters reading dozens of applications for one vacancy spend seconds on each, and many larger Zambian employers screen CVs with software that ranks them on how closely the wording matches the requirements. A CV that speaks directly to the advert stands out on both counts.
